Recently I took my dad with me to D.C. for a week. It's a place he's never had the opportunity to go and it's one of my top 5 places to visit -so, it was only right to take him along. We shared a hotel room (I had my ear plugs on hand!) and he toured with the spouses of my teammates while I had meetings with my Leadership Idaho Agriculture gang. Then, in the evenings we would connect for dinner and talk through the sites that had been seen that day. The final day, one of my teammates was able to get us in to the Pentagon for a private tour with a Lt. Col. because his uncle is a 4 star General there. It was truly amazing - we spent 4 hours walking the halls, hearing the stories, meeting the leaders and experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. All in all, my Dad and I had a fabulous time together.

I love reading your blog! Keep it coming! In case you didn't know, I have a blog too at:http://photocrazy55.blogspot.com/
How special for daughter and dad to take such a fabulous trip like that. I love D.C. I've been there only twice, once in the deep snow and everything was shut down. The other time I only got to take a quick spin around town. I've never been able to get out and look or go inside any of the great places. Both times were when I was traveling with Acquire the Fire. I'd love to go again when my kids have a little better understanding of American government and really do D.C. justice with our "field trip" of the year. Care to join us?
That is great! What an experience for him. Great father & daughter time too!
After hearing stories from Jen Labelle's husband (he works at the Pentagon)...it does sound like an AMAZING place to visit.
